Nanotechnology in Medical Imaging

Nanotechnology is the science of the nanoscale. Medical imaging is the technique and process of creating visual representations of areas inside the human body to diagnose medical problems and monitor treatment, as well as visual representation of the function of some organs or tissues. There are several types of medical imaging, and more methods for imaging are being invented as technology advances. Nanotechnology is presently being useful to advanced methods of medical imaging. The development of imaging at the nanoscale has the ability to improve the field of medicine by providing new detailed images of cellular processes. Current methods of medical imaging are being used as contrast agents for tracking injected nanoparticles in the body.
